Patrick Shea grew up just two doors down at the Essex River House Motel. there he worked much of his teenage years at their beloved family resturant, Tom Shea’s. starting as a dishwasher at age twelve, he eventually worked his way through the kitchen. at sixteen, he took his passion for food to the next level by apprenticing at yanks in beverly farms. there he trained under acclaimed chef, earhard wendt.
from there, he went on to complete his studies at johnson & wales university in denver, colorado. returning to boston, he worked at a handful of popular hotspots including anthem kitchen & bar and lucky’s lounge until he was able to realize his dream. moving to italy, patrick apprenticed under old world chef, bennedetta vitale, at his acclaimed resturant, zibibbo. located in carregi, just north of florence.
upon coming back to the states, he worked for several years in high volume boston resturants, including Eastern Standard, The Regal Beagle and the Tavern at Quarry Hills until returning HOME TO the north shore to take on the opening executive chef position at barrel house American bar in beverly, MA.

In the Summer of 2015, patrick and mercedes welcomed their third daughter, Decklyn. by which our sister resturant, Decklyn’s, located on the historic gloucester harbor got Its name.
